I fill like a Windows user again… Restart at least once a day, cruel shut downs (the one you need to press the power button for few seconds or take out the battery) and strange behaviors like seen in the attached movie.

hint: most of the third party programs are not ready for the new version.

in this movie you can see why you should not switch to Unity mode in VMWare and try to drag a window from one space to the other…

iBrickr 0.9 without iTunes

Spent almost half a day trying to figure out a way to make iBrickr to notice my new iPhone. All I had was a message saying “Please wait while we contact your iPhone”. I tried on three different computers but with no luck.

No one told me I need iTunes…

Now I am in the middle of downgrading to 1.0.2 in order to unlock the goddamn machine. Since yesterday I think I did about 15,000 failed emergency calls just because it was the only thing working. I can’t wait. I know you are not interested but don’t worry, I will keep you updated anyways.

I hate my MacBook… It was the third time today I had to restart it, I don’t know why I bought it in the first place… I have also an Ipod… Hate it even more… Now I am thinking about getting myself Mac mini for the living room. Damn you Apple.

I quit smoking 12 days ago, I might be able to stop using Apple products as well.

BTW did you know you can run Fiddler on FireFox?!? I did not know! Finally good news today!

Google Analytics – How many IE6 users do you really have?

Don’t know if you ever noticed it but there is an annoying bug in IE6 related to javascript links (href=”javascript:alert(‘hello!’);”) and external files (such as images and scripts).
For some reason, whenever you click a javascript link before the page is fully loaded, IE6 will abort all open connections.

Usually, the outcome will be a page with broken images. The user can always hit the refresh button if he really wants to see the images. But what will happen with AJAX calls or essential external scripts (like urchin.js).

If you have Google Analytics installed (or any other event collector agent implemented using XSS) and you use javascript links (and not onclick) you should seriously check your IE6 users numbers.

It might sound like just few users will be fast enough to click links before the JS files are fully loaded but I can tell you that we had this issue with one of our clients two years ago (at that time our event collector was implemented using XSS like GA) and in his case, the gap was noticable.
